FOT Description:

The Fiber Optic Technician (FOT) certification from ETA Certification was established in 2001 and is aimed at students who are currently employed in the electronics environments, or those who want to find employment in those environments as technicians, and want to obtain the Fiber Optic Technician (FOT) certification.

The ETA Fiber Optic Technician certification certifies that a successful ETA Fiber Optic Technician has learnt the knowledge need to design, configure, install, and maintain fiber optic systems, and test and troubleshoot a Local Area Network (LAN). The successful ETA Fiber Optic Technician certified student will have knowledge of fiber optics concepts. These are all fields in the electronics environments.

FOT Prerequisites:

The Fiber Optic Technician certification is only available to students who have success fully acquired the ETA FOI certification.

FOT Required Exams:

To be awarded the ETA Fiber Optic Technician certification, the Fiber Optic Technician student must successfully pass one exam namely; the ETA CFOT. This exam has a difficulty rating of about 3 out of 5 and is thus only a moderately difficult exam. This exam is available in English only.

A successful Fiber Optic Technician student will hold the Fiber Optic Technician certification for four years only, after which the Fiber Optic Technician student must renew their Fiber Optic Technician certification.
